The Children’s Ministry at Saint Mark UMC is a wonderful mixture of learning about God’s love and fun and friendship. The Children’s Ministry is housed in our newest building addition to Saint Mark, Noah’s Ark, and the focus of our ministry is for families who have children beginning in Kindergarten through the 5th Grade.
At Saint Mark UMC it is very important to us that we offer a loving, caring, safe, and biblically supported nursery and preschool program ministry on Sunday Mornings. We believe that children were always, and still are, important to our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Saint Mark has a long history of loving and caring nursery workers and volunteers. Each of our classes is divided by age with two workers per class. Each of our nursery workers and volunteers have passed a Safe Sanctuary background check and have been trained in Childcare CPR.
Sunday Mornings Designed for Your Children
Sunday School (9:45 a.m.— 10:45 a.m.)
We use as our curriculum on Sundays Treasure Cove. Treasure Cove is a study of different biblical passages articulated for children, and designed so that a child who begins our program in the 1st grade will progress in studying all the stories of the bible by the time they end the 5th grade.
Children’s Church (8:50-ish a.m. & 11:20-ish a.m.)
Children’s Church begins with a dismissal for children around the times noted above from worship. This is an exciting opportunity for children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Children participate in exciting activities that build their knowledge of the Bible and of God’s love for them. Activities include learning the Books of the Bible, learning main themes of the Bible, and Bible usage skills such as learning to look up books, chapters and verses.
